We have a problem going on in Charlotte right now. Â Here it is: AÂ friend asks if you’ve been to the newest restaurant / brewpub / bakery / wine bar that just opened…meanwhile you’re still trying to find time to try out last month’s hot spot.
It’s a good problem to have. But, with all that’s going on in our growing city, we thought we’d lend a hand. Here you’ll find the most anticipated openings each month, along with where you can head to now and what to look forward to.
We do the best to make sure dates are accurate, but unexpected delays do happen! We’ve included the links to most social media accounts and websites, so you can double check before heading out the door.
Now Open:Â
Sugar Donuts
11914 Elm Ln.
Charlotte’s first and only handmade donut food truck made its way to a permanent home in South Charlotte last weekend. At Sugar, Johnson & Wales graduates whip up sweet treats made entirely from scratch. It’s important for them to use high-quality local ingredients, and it shows in their best-sellers. The traditional vanilla uses premium high-quality vanilla bean, and anything with their homemade caramel quickly flies off the baking rack. Their menu changes daily, so keep up with their Facebook page and menu here.  If you still want to enjoy your donuts fresh from the truck, you can hire them for your next corporate event, private party or even wedding!
Opening in November:
Rusty BucketÂ
Sharon Square
Have you ever wanted to have that “spot” where everyone in the neighborhood can go and grab some great food and cold drinks? Good news, Rusty Bucket is opening up on November 18 in Sharon Square. Its classic American fare and welcoming community vibe are sure to make this a hit.
The Fresh Market Dilworth
1412 East Blvd.
It’s almost here, what we’ve all been waiting for. You can finally start shopping at the newest location of The Fresh market on November 11. Just in time for turkey day!
Co
4343 Park Rd.(Park Rd Shopping Center)
Co is adding a fourth member to their family with the opening of their location in Park Road Shopping Center. The Vietnamese restaurant is working hard to create an atmosphere that lives up to its name, which translates to “feast” in English. With community seating and dishes meant to share, the owners hope to serve great food and inspire even better conversations. Favorite dishes include the Curry Laksa, in-house dumplings and pressed sushi.
Doc Porter’s
232 Peterson Dr.
It’s almost time to raise your (shot) glass to Charlotte’s newest distillery. Doc Porter’s is opening up its doors for guided tours on November 6. Attracted by the area’s interest in everything “craft”, the owners want to share the science and art involved in bringing vodka all the way from grain to glass. Tours will include a walk-through of the LoSo (that’s lower South End) distillery with a lesson from Head Distiller and chemical engineer Andrew Porter. You’ll have the chance to taste their vodka made right on-site and have the chance to bring home your own bottle.
The Wine Shop
911 E Morehead St.
The Wine Shop is moving from the Rusan’s center on Park Rd. to Morehead Street (right next to Dilworth neighborhood Grille) this month. The large variety wine shop will house 3,500 selections, plus a space four times larger than their Park Road location for patron wine storage. Stop by for a wine tasting and pick up a bottle of your new favorite. Â Â Â
Be On the Lookout
One Life Raw Juice Bar
2927 Selwyn Ave.
Coming soon to Myers Park, One Life Raw Juice Bar is bringing raw veggie and fruit base vegan smoothies and cold press juice to Selwyn Ave. Their mission is to help customers enjoy their “One Life” by providing healthier options without additives, preservatives, animal products, refined sugar or dairy. On New Year’s Eve you’ll be able to sip without the guilt thanks to their Organic Superfood Cocktail line, which adds their cold press juice into your favorite drinks. Expected opening is late Fall but no date has been confirmed yet.  Â
Pasta & Provisions
4700 Park Road
I came, I saw, I ordered handmade pasta. That’s how it goes, right? Anyway, the second location for Pasta & Provisions is well on its way right on Park Road near Montford Drive. Be on the lookout for an opening date announced in the next few months. Â Â Â Â Â
Foxcroft Wine Co.
Kenilworth Commons off of East Boulevard
The South Park favorite is expanding into Dilworth. Foxcroft Wine Co. has been hard at work on their second location in the Kenilworth Commons shopping center (visible from East Boulevard). Here you’ll be able to sip on a wide variety of wines by the glass, purchase a bottle of your choice at normal retail prices and enjoy small plate cuisine prepared from scratch daily. We’re not positive, but from the construction it looks like there may be a good size patio at this location, which will be perfect for nice weather and people watching. Targeted opening yet to be announced.       Â

Reid’s much anticipated second location in South Park is coming along nicely. The 87 year old Charlotte favorite is expected to open the doors of their new location late this fall, although no formal opening date has been announced.
Juice Bar
4325 Park Rd., Suite 308Â
Juice cleanse, anyone? Juice Bar coming soon to park Road Shopping Center is making it easy to fuel up on your fruits and veggies. The sign is up, but no official openings date has been set yet. Stay tuned!
