Ashley Bookout’s Bookout Blooms is located inside Atherton Mill in South End Charlotte, and has been in business for 8 years serving South End Charlotte and surrounding areas. She specializes in daily delivery and events, and also provides florals for funerals, baby showers, corporate events and parties. The shop is open to walk-in customers to create your own bouquet from their ‘flower bar,’ or you can pick up a pre-made arrangement from those they always have available. Bookout Blooms also offer a variety of retail including indoor plants, local handmade pots and planters and local hand poured candles.

Pretty Things by Ashley Manning
Ashley Manning is a local floral designer and also, the founder of the beautiful Valentine’s Day Widow Outreach Project. Ashley offers fresh floral weekly, plants and orchids, as well as outdoor and indoor planters. She carefully has curated a collection of vases and vessels as well as home décor products to compliment her floral design.
In 2021 Ashley founded the Valentine’s Day Widow Outreach Project. Together with our community, this annual effort has gifted hundreds of widows in the Charlotte, NC area with flowers and gifts – reminding them that they are loved and never forgotten.

Proper Flower
For 10 years, Melissa Martin Julien was an integral part a world-renowned design team in New York City where she produced and designed events at exclusive resorts and private residences from coast to coast and around the world from Japan to Colombia, France, Jamaica and beyond. After finding success in New York, Melissa and her husband decided to head back to her hometown of Charlotte, where in 2015, Melissa opened Proper Flower. In addition to event design, Melissa has also worked on and produced photo shoots, creating florals and still lifes for prominent books and magazines sold nationwide.

Dewberry Farm in Kernersville is a private residence that you can reserve for weddings, receptions, and rehearsal dinners. On two special occasions, it is open to the public: Spring Tulips (finished) and Summer Sunflowers (July). Both events are ticketed events, no walk in’s, tickets will be available online only when the event is going on so check their site frequently. New for 2024 they’ll have a U-Pick/Flower stand, more details on their website soon. And they host a ticketed Mother’s Day Tea as well, tickets here.
