nail polish wars – matte vs. not?

OPI is always setting trends in laquer. Remember this summer? Nails to match your Paige denim. And now, nails to match your laptop (read here). OK, too much of a good thing, but…The hot news from OPI this season is Matte finishes & Suede finishes in your favorite shades. (Soon to come, no doubt, Glitter finishes. Deborah Lippman does the best glam-rock-glitter so far, but give OPI time).
The nail blogging divas have tried & tested the new matte and the reviews have been mixed. Specifically, they say the matte flakes & peels off easily, you can’t use bottom/top coats and you can’t use lotions.
BTW, the newest, most radical nail finishes?  These come from Minx, which isn’t really a polish at all.  Only for those who like nail art, Minx is a solid film with an adhesive back that is heat activated when applied.
