Dear Flywheel,
I can safely say my love/hate relationship for you has turned in to pure adoration. It’s week two of the FlyBarre Challenge and though some days I wake up feeling sore in places I didn’t know existed, I managed to get hooked. Whether it was the dynamic arms, the second set of abs or the tear jerking seat session, I am now a FlyBarre addict.
During my first trial class I truly believed the people who committed themselves to an hour long barre wrath were nothing short of crazy. The people whose tweets consisted of catch phrases like “#flywheel”, “#flybarre” and “#nevercoast”? That was all a very strange mystery to me. Now, I guess I’m just one of them.
The first few classes were tough. But as with any new workout, it’s amazing how quickly one adapts. I went from being someone who thought I would take FlyBarre once and never again. Yet over the course of 14 days, I can feel my body getting stronger along with my will to continue. So far I’m on track and have made it to four classes per week. I prefer taking the 8:30 a.m. class to know that once it’s over, I don’t have to think about it again.
I’ve taken a class with each FlyBarre instructor, who are all equally as challenging (in a good way). It’s refreshing to take a class with a different instructor each time since they all have their unique ways of teaching (and pushing you to continue).
I decided to opt out of the weekly measurements and instead take them half way through the challenge, which will be next week. I’m looking forward to seeing the results. Whether or not I’ve lost inches off my waist, hips or arms, I can definitely see changes in the way my body is responding.
Off to FlyBarre now and ready to burn!
Love,
Lauren
