There’s a bustle of volunteers on the typically quiet Gleneagles Road this week and blimps have been circling the city, which can only mean the Wells Fargo Championship golf tournament is upon us once again. Just because Tiger Woods won’t be joining the Queen City for the championship this week doesn’t mean you don’t have to! The grounds at Quail Hollow are the place to see and be seen, and Charlotte shops are well-stocked with all of the must haves to spend your afternoons watching Mickelson and McIlroy tee off or for any summer events on your social calendar.
Comfort is key when it comes to a day of golf viewing, so shorts, dresses and skirts are perfect when paired with breezy blouses and accessories. To navigate the hilly courses and sidewalks to and from the event, footwear should include flats or wedges. Don’t be that girl hobbling around in heels and adding divots to the pristine grounds in your stilettos. And with the weather calling for downpours at the beginning of the week, a pair of wellies might be a necessity for this years tournament.
Another must-have for a full day in the sun and outdoors is a stylish hat and some sunscreen with SPF. As far as accessories, we suggest leaving the large totes and handbags at home as they are typically not permitted through security. A small crossbody bag is your best bet to carry your essentials. And unless you absolutely HAVE TO bring it along, leave the cell phone at home.
