About coconut oil –

Coconut oil is an unrefined oil that is easily digested by the body.  It is composed of medium-chain length fatty acids which have many health benefits.

Why coconut oil is better than other types of oil –

For starters, coconut oil is lower in calories than other oils.  In addition, it is easily converted into energy and it does not lead to accumulation of fat in the heart and arteries.

How coconut oil can be used –

Coconut oil can be used in cooking and baking and even in smoothies.  It can also be used in place of butter.  For example, many people like to spread it on toast.  I love adding it to my sweet potatoes, butternut squash, and Brussels sprouts.   The flavor is so slight that you don’t have to worry about it overpowering your dishes.  I promise that everything you make will not end up tasting like a pina colada!

If you’re still not convinced that you should be using coconut oil, well,

Here are 12 ways to add some coconut oil into your life –

2. Rub into the skin to soften rough and dry patches.

3. Use to polish stainless steel appliances by applying with a cloth in soft circular motions.

4. Use as a makeup remover.  It’s particularly great for taking off waterproof eye makeup.
