January and February make me want to put on my comfiest slippers and cuddle up by the fireplace under my warmest blanket with a delicious cup of something good.
Unfortunately, a lot of seasonal drinks are loaded with sugar and empty calories….not what I want for myself or my family.
That’s why I’ve been on a mission to find drinks with a healthier twist that contain more natural ingredients, such as Pumpkin Spice Hot Chocolate.
Pumpkin Spice Hot Chocolate
(Serves 2)
Ingredients:
1 cup unsweetened chocolate almond milk
½ cup pumpkin puree
1/8 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
1 teaspoon cacao powder
Whipped cream, for garnish (optional)
Sprinkling of cinnamon, for garnish (optional)
Directions:
Heat the almond milk, pumpkin, vanilla, pumpkin pie spice, and cacao in a small saucepan. Bring to a simmer. Remove from the heat and pour into a mug. Top with a tiny bit of whipped cream for some extra sweetness and a dash of cinnamon.
Here are six more drinks that I personally enjoy on chilly winter nights…
