Happy New Year! Originally I had planned on featuring the OPI Gwen Stefani collection, but then hold the phone, the Panthers made the play offs, woo hoo! Instead of just showing you the colors in the collection, which in all honestly are a bit of a bore, I will use my two favorites in a mani that will show off your Panther Pride. Also making the cut is a surprise wild card entry from L’oréal called Hidden Gems, gorgeous polish that I picked up at Walgreens. Ok, enough with the play making lets get on the field.
When OPI announced a collection with Gwen Stefani, I was pretty excited, then I spotted it in Ulta and blah, boring(see picture below). Out of the 7 piece collection only the two above made my cut. 4 in the Morning is a satin finish black and Push and Shove a true chrome. The nail world has been waiting and waiting for a true mirror finish chrome, thank you Miss Gwen! Push and Shove requires a special base coat, Lay Down That Base, that is free with Push and Shove. You have to use Lay Down That Base or Push and Shove looks like a gloppy mess and it does require patience between coats. I would also recommend lightly buffing your nails for a streak free look, note this is a specialty look and OPI states that it is for one night only. Â Cult Nails Party Time pulled this look together, but OPI Blue My Mind would make a good substitution.
Substitution on the playing field, L’oréal Hidden Gems show them what you’re made of! Now I do like the mani above, but this one is my favorite and the one I will more then likely be sporting this weekend. Picked this one up at Walgreens and layered it over Cult Nails Fetish, which is a wax finish one coat black and bam team pride in quick mani. Hidden Gems is a textured finish along the lines of Zoya Pixie Dust and OPI Liquid Sand , so it dries faster and matte.  I added a top coat to let the teal shimmer and silver sequins shine.
There you have it, go on out there and show them off this weekend, #KeepPounding!
