For your July 3 celebration, may we suggest…
The 8th Annual Summer Celebration, at Lowe’s YMCA in Mooresville. You can enter the lawn full of fun (think games, vendors, music) starting at 4 p.m. while the live remote with WSOC 103.7 starts at 3:15 p.m. Bands take the stage throughout the evening and fireworks start at 9:30 p.m.
And the Lowe’s Y neighbor, Hickory Tavern in Mooresville, is adding to your fun with a party of its own. In its parking lot your family can enjoy loads of fun including a bounce house, snow cone machine, Â balloon artist, cornhole, dunk tank, beer tub, outside grill with hot dogs and hamburgers, live music, and the fireworks at the Y.

And then, for your July 4Â party planning needs, you’ll want to check out…
Downtown Davidson as it hosts an Independence Parade starting at 5:30 p.m. from McEver Field on South Street and will lead into the Concert on the Green which will feature a Lake Norman area favorite, Simplified. The concert starts at 6 p.m. and you’ll want to pack some snacks, drinks, and money to buy me ice cream. The fireworks will start around 9 p.m.
The Peninsula Club, Cornelius. Â Fireworks will be displayed near the first hole in the Peninsula neighborhood on Jetton Road.
Our Harrisburg readers can enjoy fireworks at Harrisburg Park Friday starting at 10 p.m. but there are events July 2 through the 4th throughout Harrisburg. A full schedule can be found by clicking here.
Birkdale Village will be the spot for those of you in the Huntersville area July 4th. Festivities begin at 9 a.m. Organizers have decorations for the children’s bikes to get them ready for the parade, bounce houses, face painting, Uncle Sam, water fight between the fire stations, music, and a whole lot more. The Fifth Annual Bike Safety Rodeo will be also return starting at 9 a.m. until the beginning of the parade (roughly 2 hours). Volunteers from Cool Breeze Cycles will be on hand to provide free bike safety checks in their maintenance tent, coupons for discounted bike helmets and maintenance at their two stores, and to man the safety course, coaching young riders.

The 10th Annual Firecracker 5K at the Huntersville Family Fitness and Aquatic Center is a great option. For the novice to the expert competitive runner, this road race features a medium to moderate course, fun and festive atmosphere and race participation qualifies you for a full day of fun in the sun at HFFA. And new this year is Super Soaker 100 Yard Dash. Online registration is closed but you can register the day of the race starting at 6:30 a.m.
The Lake Norman Yacht Club in Mooresville will have fireworks on the Lake at 9:30 p.m. as part of its Independence Day Regatta .
