If you (or your daughter) is heading off to rush/recruitment this month, you’ll want to to have the right kind of outfits ready for the whole process. Â You either get it or you don’t, it’s either the best thing ever or you’d rather have your teeth drilled. Â No judging either way, to each their own. Â I like the way the website RACKED.com describes it in this article about preparing for Rush:
At most schools, it’s like the Olympics of socializing at the pace of speed dating and with the intensity of a job interview.Â
Pretty much. Â Here’s what the Racked fashion expert had to offer in terms of What to Wear.
Almost every school gives you a list of themed days for recruitment. It’s basically like party invitations with dress codes, only easier to figure out than “Dressy Casual.” In an ideal world, you wouldn’t have to buy anything. In the real world (aka Sorority World), you want to invest in the perfect items to fit the theme of the day. Sometimes you’ll be asked to wear jeans, other times dress is business casual. Luckily, even if you purchase those items for the sole purpose of recruitment, you’ll definitely re-wear. Every girl needs an LBD, sorority or otherwise.Â
What type of dresses are preferred, or where does the majority of the judgement reside re: outfit? When we (the girls on the other side of recruitment),  get ready, we try to wear outfits that would be perfect for meeting a boyfriend’s parents for the first time (no pressure) or going to your house of worship (whatever that may be).Basically, you should look put together and more like you’re going to a country club than a night club.
We asked the Charlotte boutiques for the thoughts on the cutest RUSH outfits and accessories they have in store right now, so you can get shopping, packing and prioritizing.
