You’ve figured out by now that – if it’s pretty, I want it.
And I don’t want to pay more than I have to.
I want quality stuff at a good price. Â That’s my gig.
That’s why I am a sucker for bulbs. Â Bulbs for all seasons are the bargain beauties of the garden. Whether they perennialize or not. Â The only cheaper way for pretty color is growing from seed. Which I do, but it’s not nearly as easily accomplished.
I already told you how to force your bulbs.
Now that the temps are going to be warming up, it’s time to order some bulbs to get in the ground. No need to force anything. Just buy some bulbs you like the look of and stick them in your garden.
Here are my favorite summer blooming bulbs to plant this spring for glorious summer flowers and accents in the garden. Â As always, I go with Brent & Becky, ’cause their selection is just amaze. Â Why settle for Casa Blanca when you can choose from 9 Orientals, 14 Oriental / Trumpets, and 18 Asiatics? Â And that’s just the lillies. Â Other favorites are dahlias, glads (try them in the back of your garden, you won’t feel funereal at all), amaryllis (yes), tuberose and lily-of-the-valley (make your own perfume! JK) etc. Â I have personally had no luck whatsoever with caladium bulbs, but I’ve planted most of the others with much success.
