If you’re anything like we are at Scoop, you’re probably trying hard to look and feel your best. You might be juicing a few times a week (or stopping at a juice bar) and working out almost every day. You also probably have your skincare routine down – retinols, antioxidants and of course, sunscreen!

However, if you’re not taking the right vitamins, you could be missing out on looking and feeling your best. The right vitamins can boost our healthy habits and carry us on those days when things don’t go as planned (Venti latte for lunch?).

Here’s our guide to what you should be taking right now:

Women’s multivitamin – a good multivitamin will give you all the things you should be getting from a balanced diet – and more. Look for a formula with folic acid and iron.
Biotin – Biotin can do wonders to strengthen your skin, hair and nails. 300-500mcg is a good daily dose. Check your multivitamin because many of them include it.
Zinc– Zinc is an import immune boosting vitamin that can help us fight off disease. It’s especially important for vegetarians (or veggie-lovers) to take since legumes prevent zinc from being absorbed by your body. 8-11mg is the recommended daily dose.
Calcium-Magnesium – A really important vitamin for active women to maintain their muscle and bone health. The recommended dose is 1000mg calcium/400-600mg Magnesium. Just remember to take these vitamins on an empty stomach and separate from your other vitamins to maximize absorption!

Vitamins don’t take the place of healthy eating, but they can help you get the most out of your beauty and fitness routines. It’s easy to forget to take them every day, so try setting a daily cell phone alarm so you don’t miss out!
