While we can conveniently find pre-sliced watermelon in our local supermarkets, I urge you to purchase your watermelons whole because watermelon can lose much of its nutrients when exposed to light.  Once you slice your watermelons, be sure to keep them well-covered in your refrigerator to preserve the vitamins.
