There are some creative, outside-the-box marketers here in Charlotte, but there are none quite like Blair Primis, or as we like to call him, the Godfather of Cool. Blair is the Vice President of Marketing for OrthoCarolina and a true leader in this community. His ability to communicate with potential clients through grassroots tactics and thought-provoking performance marketing is in a league of its own.
Blair believes in pushing the line and breaking conventional thinking when it comes to spreading the word about OrthoCarolina. He is constantly blurring the lines of what an orthopedic doctor’s office should be. You can see this nontraditional approach all over the greater Charlotte area, but specifically in unique sponsorships & outdoor advertising campaigns.
OrthoCarolina sponsored the $11 million state-of-the-art OrthoCarolina Sportsplex for the Charlotte Soccer Academy. Read more here. This project is an initiative of OrthoCarolina Soccer and a great way to get in front of sports families.
Blair was integral in launching the Kick it with Cam! Celebrity Kickball Tournament, powered by OrthoCarolina. This fun event brought together local civic and business leaders at BB&T Ballpark this past summer.
Title sponsor of TEDxCharlotte, a social entrepreneur breeding ground for the Queen City. Hear OrthoCarolina CEO, Dan Murrey talk more about this partnership.
Founded the OrthoCarolina 10K Classic Food Truck and Beer Fest, which is in its sixth year. All proceeds benefit RunningWorks and Care Ring.
OrthoCarolina is the main supporter of the ever-popular (and growing) NoDa Brewing Run Club. Run Club meets every Wednesday at 6:30pm for a 1, 3 and 5 mile route that begins and ends at NoDa Brewing Company.
Blair cleverly wraps any and every truck that he can, ever wonder what OrthoCarolina was delivering to the gas station?
OrthoCarolina collaborated with Adams Outdoors Advertising on a very creative billboard marketing campaign (titled Broken). The project was a “tease and reveal” over several months. Watch this cool video to see the full story.
Another reason why Blair stands out as the Godfather of Cool in the marketing world is his constant support of local, young entrepreneurs.
He’s put his confidence in my company #thesavageway, and utilized our Clean Graffiti service on a multitude of occasions. OrthoCarolina has used Clean Graffiti as a direct line of communication to potential clients: runners, walkers, bikers, etc.
Blair has also sponsored multiple Cruise Carts, which provide FREE rides to Charlotteans on behalf of OrthoCarolina. This eco-friendly, electric golf cart shuttle is the brain child of another young entrepreneur, Dustin Adams. Flag down one of these carts this fall during the Panthers games!
OrthoCarolina is great at what they do ~ fixing broken bones. But they are also great at something that should be a priority for other companies ~ building community. Blair has done a superb job of utilizing local talent for projects, supporting charity events, and helping organizations grow. Check out his talk at WeLoveCLT – talk about passion! We are grateful to have OrthoCarolina and the Godfather of Cool as our partner!
