Has the summer sun left your hair looking dull and faded? Does your hair feel less like silk and more like straw when you touch it? If so, you may need some first aid to get your hair back in shape for fall. Not sure what to do? The Scoop girls have some ideas for you:
Go Richer, not Darker
The temptation to cover up all of your highlights is tempting but it can make you look washed out. Instead, have your stylist tone down your over-lightened strands with rich hues – think chocolate, deep gold, and auburn.
Add Layers (and maybe Bangs)
If you were in and out of the lake all summer like we were, your hair is probably due for a trim. In addition to getting some length off the bottom, try adding layers throughout and even some bangs now that the humidity has subsided.
Get a Deep Conditioning Treatment and Gloss
If you’re wanting to refresh your hair without committing to a color change (or even a trim!), you can ask your stylist for a deep conditioning treatment to repair summer damage and improve your hair’s texture. Then, have them seal the results with a gloss treatment – you can go clear or choose a gloss with a subtle hue. Either way you go, your hair will look shinier and healthier for 6-8 weeks.
