Face Oils: Pick the Right One for Your Skin

Sweater Weather. It’s the most wonderful time of the year.
As the temps drop and you shift into the winter side of your wardrobe, your skin care needs a change of season as well.  Cooler temperatures lead to conditions both indoors and out that can leave your skin dry and dull. Switching from a lightweight moisturizer to a face oil is a great way to bring back your glow.

If you haven’t gotten on the skin oils bandwagon yet, you might want to give one a try.  I personally swear by them. Whether your skin is normal or dry, there is a cleansing oil and a moisturizing oil for you.  There is some debate about the use of face oils on oily skin, and lots of mythology around what works and what doesn’t, so check with your derm if you have oily or acne prone skin.

Not sure which one to use? The girls at ScoopTheLake put together this guide to help you pick the right one for your skin:

Normal skin:

Rodin Olio Lusso, $170 – For those not concerned with price, this is the premier product in the category. The blend of 11 essential oils includes calming aromatic Jasmine, softening Sweet Almond and anti-aging Argan, and it leaves skin radiant not oily. And it smells divine. Just a few drops from the dropper and you’re set, so the per use price is not as bad as it first may seem.
