I thought that pomegranates were intimidating for the longest time.  Seriously, those puppies don’t look easy to get into, do they?  But after stumbling across so many delicious looking recipes involving pomegranate, I finally decided to hit up the internet for some help with cutting and de-seeding a pomegranate.  See a helpful tutorial here.
(By the way, the seeds, or arils, can actually be stored in freezer bags and kept frozen for up to a year.)
After I mastered that little technique, I tried some recipes with pomegranate at long last, and, before I knew it, I was adding pomegranate arils to basically all of my meals and snacks.
Luckily, going overboard isn’t necessarily a bad thing, as pomegranates are high in antioxidants, can help to prevent plaque, have cancer-fighting properties, and can even curb the appetite.
The average pomegranate season runs from September through January, so there’s still plenty of time to enjoy these recipes!
