The perfect summer camp combines fun, learning, exposure to new things, and adventure in a safe and stimulating environment. Just ’cause school is out doesn’t mean the learning should stop (not to mention your exercise routine and the time to run errands unaccompanied). While summer is a great time to take a break from the daily rigors of the school year, you can avoid “summer learning loss” by picking at least a few targeted activities for your children (and by making sure they meet or exceed their summer reading assignments).
DISCOVERY PLACE KIDS Summer Camps in Huntersville offers a slew of adventure & learning camps for all age groups and should be first on your list for sign ups.
Discover Place Kids offers 32 camps for children aged between 18 months and 8 years old, starting on June 6th and running throughout the summer until August 26th. Options and dates vary by age group, and the search function is HERE. Time saver tip…pick your age group rather than try to search using both dates and age, since not all weeks are covered for all ages.
Starting as early as 18 months old, your child can enjoy art, reading, space, marine life and even “cooking” one hour camps, although a caregiver must accompany each child until aged 3.
Ages 3-5 have 16 camp options, most running from 9 am to noon with the option to add on a supervised lunch for an extra $30. Junior Chefs, Start Your Engines, Storybook Cooks, Knights & Princesses, LEGOs and more.
Children over aged 5 can be signed up for Spy, Paleontology, Cooking, Makers, Science, Legos and others. There is even a WIZARD SCHOOL for the “old” 8 year olds, while they transition into sports and sleep-away camps.
Registration is still open, and you can register online or call 704.372.6261 x300 weekdays 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Full payment must be made at the time of registration.
