Maybe you’ve seen her around town, with the beautiful pink hair and awe-inspiring body, and wondered, now who is that amazing looking woman? You just know there’s a fab story behind that look. And there is.
If you don’t know her, Madison Kennedy is a member of Team USA and trainer for Hilliard Studio Method, and she’s heading to the Olympic Trials in Omaha to qualify to compete in the 50 freestyle at the 2016 Games in Rio.
In her most recent meet at the Arena Pro Swim Series in Mesa, Arizona, Madison swam a lifetime best of 24.45 and rose to stand as the third fastest American in the women’s 50 freestyle.
Sheah. Now that’s real girl power. Instagram wannabes, take note.
Kennedy, who began her swimming career at four and graduated from UC Berkeley as an All-American, swam in the Olympic Trials in 2008 and 2012 but fell short of making the team. Kennedy now trains full time at SwimMAC Carolina in Charlotte in pursuit of the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. She credits her time spent at Hilliard Studio Method with strong impact on her performance. “Teaching gives me an outlet for my, shall we say, gregarious personality and the workout has improved my muscle dexterity and strength in a way that other training methods could never dream to do.”
Madison will head to the trials at the end of June, and we will definitely be watching and cheering for her on July 2nd and 3rd. We can’t wait to almost-sort-of know someone going to the GAMES. Stay tuned scoop girls, more to follow.
