Donuts might be one of my biggest weaknesses. I once ate 12 donuts in one sitting in college (not my finest moment). And the sad part is, I didn’t even really feel sick after. While I can’t do that every weekend, you get the point; I love donuts and I have no self control.
So you can only imagine my excitement when my boyfriend announced he was joining forces with the local pop-up, Joe’s Doughs, to open a donut shop here in Charlotte. It was a moment of sublime bliss, I kid you not.
That was almost one year ago and it has taken countless hours to get everything into place (HUGE shout-out to Erica at The Apostrophe Co. & Paige Dyer for all of our interior design/hand lettering needs, the shop would be a disaster without you guys!) I can now happily announce to you all that Joe’s Doughs is open for business.
They are having flash sales all this week leading up to the Grand Opening this Saturday, June 18th (check out their Instagram to see what hours they’ll be open this week!)
Aside from humble bragging about my insider donut connection, the point of this is to tell you the most popular flavors! They’re all fantastic (trust me I’ve state tested them all), but there are definitely some stand-outs. Make sure you give these a try:

1. Candied LemonÂ
My favorite, hands down. So light, so fluffy. It’s like summer on a donut.
2. Peanut Butter S’mores
Peanut butter lovers, rejoice! This one is filled with marshmallow fluff and has all the flavors of a summer campfire.

3. Sea Salt Chocolate CaramelÂ
Need I say more? It’s sweet and salty and all you’ll ever need in life.
4. Everything DonutÂ
As in an Everything Bagel. Curveball, I know. Bagel seasoning on a donut sounds crazy- and it is. Crazy good.

5. Maple Bacon
So maple bacon has been a craze for a while now, BUT… I’ve never seen another place candy the bacon. And let me tell you, it makes a world of difference.
Be sure to swing by the new store front (1721 N. Davidson St.) this Saturday, the 18th for the Grand Opening! Festivities begin at 6:30 a.m. and last until 3 p.m. There will be lots of fun surprises, and of course, DONUTS.
