We’re back with another edition of what to do and where to go in Charlotte this weekend, and this is a big one! Summer Pops: Celebrate America
Friday, July 1
Symphony Park
The Summer Pops series will go out with a bang with this special patriotic themed performance. Pack a picnic for Celebrate America, a concert featuring favorites like “Stars and Stripes Forever,” “Armed Services Salute,” “Liberty Fanfare,” and much more. Stick around after the show for fireworks.
Red White & Belmont
Friday, July 1
Main Street
Kick off the weekend with a live music performance from The Tams starting at 6:30 pm, followed by a fireworks show at 9:30 pm.

Sunday, July 3
Old Town Rock Hill
Red, White and Boom is truly an event for the entire family featuring free concerts, great food and many fun things for the kid in all of us. Kids will love the Kids Zone and carnival rides, and may even want to try their luck in the Ice Cream Eating contest. Hang out and enjoy live music performances until 9:45 pm, when the fireworks begin.
4th of July Festival
Sunday, July 3-Monday, July 4
U.S. National Whitewater Center
Sure, the water may be temporarily turned off, but that doesn’t mean the USNWC doesn’t know how to throw a good party. Toast to the fourth with a two-day celebration featuring live music, fireworks displays, cold brews, good food and plenty of outdoor adventure. Blankets and chairs are allowed. Fireworks Sunday and Monday evening at 9:30pm.

Carowinds
After a day of thrills, end your day with a boom at one of the largest fireworks shows in the region. Show starts at 10 pm.

Uptown Charlotte and BB&T Ballpark
It’s everyone’s favorite 4th of July must-do. Kick the day off with a street festival running from 2 pm-10 pm. Visit with vendors, eat lunch from a food truck and enjoy the sights and sounds of Romare Bearden Park. When game time rolls around, make sure you have a ticket to the Charlotte Knights vs. Pawtucket Red Sox baseball game. After the game, you’ll have a front row seat to SkyShow 2016, the Southeast’s largest outdoor fireworks spectacular.
4th of July Celebration
Monday, July 4
Lawn at the Glennon Center
Take in the fireworks by sea or by land at Tega Cay’s 34th annual July 4th celebration. Start out the day with the annual Land Parade at 9 am. Hop aboard a trolley to watch the Canoe Joust before lunch, and then enjoy the Boat Parade. At 1 pm, take in a performance by the Caroline Show Ski Team. Come back at 4:30 for a Fish Fry at the Tega Cay Lions Club, followed by a fireworks show at 9:30 pm. Â View the website for a full schedule of events, free trolly information and additional details.
