Fall is the best. Not only because ~ football ~ and sweater weather (eventually) and the endless pumpkin spice brouhaha, but also for all of the gala and black tie events happening in the Queen City. As much as we have a love-hate relationship with BIG & BLACK TIE FUNDRAISING EVENTS (for our husbands it’s hate-hate), they are the life-blood of many a worthy charitable organization. Besides, once you get there, it’s always a lot more fun that you thought, even for the husbands. (why is that you cannot drag him there, yet once there, you cannot get him to leave?)
Help support your favorite cause and give yourself a reason to dress up this fall. Here are just a few parties that are on our radar:
Storybook Ball for Ronald McDonald House – Saturday, September 17
Mint Museum 80th Anniversary Celebration / VIP Opening Party 10/21 (invitation only)
JDRF Evening of Hope Gala 10/22
Bone Bash – 10/29 (Monstrous Costumes Cocktail Party)
Opera Carolina Bella Notte – (sold out)
The Patriot Gala – 11/5
Samaritan’s Feet Barefoot Gala – 11/5
Ties & Tails Gala – 11/12
Foundation For Tomorrow SOS Gala – 11/12
Young Affiliates of the Mint Fall Ball – 11/19
What to Wear? Long or short? Ah, that is the question. Many women choose to wear long and many to wear short to these events ~ if we’re new to an event, we always stalk their photo pages to check out what the women wore in years past. With the exception of Bella Notte, the Deb Parties and the big Mint Museum spring Gala, we feel that you can wear short cocktail dresses to most Charlotte black tie events.
Even so, we know that finding the proper attire for the occasion is always the hardest part. Lucky for you, the local boutiques have done their due diligence and made finding the perfect dress for any upcoming Charlotte event that much easier.
