Asia Food Fest, Roller Girls, Swing Dance, Grape Stomp. Where to Go & What to Do This Weekend

This weekend is filled with all things culture and sports, from the kick off of Sunset Music at the Metropolitan to an Adult Only Night Out at Discovery Place to cheering on the Charlotte Derby Girls and of course the Carolina Panthers!

SUNSET AT METROPOLITAN

Every Thursday from September 15 to October 6, 2016
Metropolitan will host its semi-annual Sunset at Metropolitan outdoor music series every Thursday in starting September 15 through Oct. 6 from 5:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. The free, four-week concert series welcomes musicians from a variety of genres including top 40 and classic rock, to jazz and soul. To help guests experience an even more enjoyable evening, restaurants and retailers at Metropolitan will feature specials throughout the series.

The 3rd Annual SEAC Street Food Festival is a free grassroots community event that features food from different Southeast Asian countries and tribes, silent auction, raffle, youth performances, and everyone’s favorite the Pho-Eating contest! All proceeds benefit the SEAC youth program which serves low-income immigrant and refugee youth in Charlotte!

South End Shuffle 5K

The 5K will start on Summit Rd in front of the Wooden Robot Brewery and head onto one the neighborhood’s best assets; the Rail Trail. There will also be a fun run, starting in the same location. Post Race party with LIVE music, BEER from sponsors.This event is benefiting both the expansion of the Rail Trail in South End and The Purple Promise Foundation to End Melanoma.
