The Drinks for Fall in Charlotte
As long as you’re switching to red wine from white {wine aficionados may smirk but the rest of you, you know are}, you might as well try out some of our favorite “autumnal” cocktails at the local spots. Here are a few highlights to ponder before your Happy Hour or Date Night this weekend. Cheers!

- Manhattan My Way – Woodford Reserve Bourbon, Carpano Antica Formula Vermouth and a dash of bitters, garnished with brandied cherries
- Raspberry Peach Sidecar – Remy Martin VSOP Cognac and Grand Marnier Signature Collection Raspberry Peach, topped with fresh squeezed lemon juice
- Boulevardier – Knob Creek Rye, Aperol and Carpano Antica Formula Vermouth
- Rum Raisin Black Barrel Old Fashioned – Mount Gay Black Barrel Rum, muddled fruit, raisin syrup and bitters
- Blood Orange Mule – Reyka Iceland Vodka, Solerno Blood Orange Liqueur and fresh lime, topped with ginger beer
- Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Buck – Jack Daniel’s, fresh lemon juice and strawberries, topped with ginger beer

Don’t forget the  Angel’s Envy Tasting at The Ballantyne on Friday, 10/28 at 6:30 p.m. The event will feature Angel’s Envy Port Finish awarded 98 points, the highest rating ever given to a bourbon by Wine Enthusiast along with tastings of Angel’s Envy Rye with a Rum Cask Finish.  Featuring flavorful food pairings created by The Ballantyne’s culinary team, this Whiskey Club event will be one of the highlights of 2016. New Menu at W P Kitchen + Bar
WP Kitchen + Bar has debuted a new Fall menu with Wolfgang Puck’s visit a couple weeks ago, which includes a separate menu for lunch. This is the first time they’ve ever offered a separate menu for lunch, and they’ve done it to offer more salad, sandwich and soup options for the lunch crowd.
