Halloween is less than a week away folks! Here’s our round up of fun & spooky things to do this week around LKN  – from family friendly to parents night out. Happy Halloween to all!

 

Amazing Maize Maze – Day or Night thru November 1st

There’s more than enough fun and confusion for all! Get lost in the giant seven-acre corn maze featuring over two miles of interconnecting paths. One of the largest in the Southeast, this maze is sure to please! The whole of Rural Hill’s 265 acres is available to you and your group during maze hours – take a hayride around the farm, play a round of corn-hole, explore our historic site, play in our mini-mazes, have a picnic, hike our trails, pick a pumpkin (in October,) & much more!

 

All Hallow’s Eve Family Day at Latta Plantation

All Hallows Eve Family Day October 29th, 2016 (10am-2pm) Dress in your best Halloween costumes and trick-or-treat around the Latta Plantation. Play games, see historical demonstrations, and meet the friendly farm animals while you visit.

Children’s costume awards will be given to The Best Historical Character, The Best Classical Storybook Character, The Best Farm Animal Costume, The Most Creative Costume, among others.

Admission: $8 Adults, $7 Seniors/Students, Children 5 and Under are FREE

 

2nd Annual Hallowversary at D9 Brewing Co.

Come out on October 29th at 5pm for the D9 Brewing 2nd Annual Hallowversary & Grand Re-Opening! This October marks 2 years since they opened their doors in Lake Norman and to celebrate they are throwing another huge Halloween bash complete with: Live Music on the Concert Stagee, 13 Speciality Halloween Beers, Multiple Food Trucks, Costume Contests, and a Brand New Taproom!

 

Hoot & Howl: Day of the Dead at Carolina Raptor Center

Carolina Raptor Center’s 2016 Hoot and Howl Celebration takes on a Day of the Dead twist again this fall. Celebrating the traditional Dia de Los Muertos, they will be remembering extinct species with Calaveras (poems/epitaphs), making paper flowers, engaging in traditional facepainting and exploring the sugar skull tradition. Also included: some Halloween games and crafts including a costume contest, pumpkin painting, Trick or Treating and making paper plate skeletons. Then take a walk through the woods to search for owls living inside of Latta Plantation Nature Preserve!

 

Northcross Shopping Center’s Tricks & Treats

Tricks & Treats is a FREE family event, including spooky games, a pumpkin patch, face painting, live princesses and so much more. Come out and join the fun for a ghoulish good time!! Proceeds from the pumpkin patch benefit Autism Society of North Carolina.

Silly Spooky Hayrides at Abide-A-While Acres – Kid Friendly

A fun hayride through a decorated trail. Nothing gross, startling, or something you can’t unsee. Finally an evening event the littles and the grandparents can enjoy! Enjoy the bonfire before or after you ride. Sweet treats, s’mores kits and water available for purchase. Hayless rides also available.
