Bonterra Dining & Wine Room
John Duncan, owner of BONTERRA DINING & WINE ROOM sent us these Thanksgiving wine suggestions to pair perfectly at your table this week.
Reid’s Fine Foods
Leyla Arcovio is the wine director at REID’S FINE FOODS and truly an expert on wine, and sent us four Thanksgiving Day wine recommendations that are available for purchase at both Reid’s locations.
ALBERT BICHOT CREMANT DE BOURGOGNE ROSE
Fine, even bubbles, beautiful pink in color with salmon high lights. Berries (blackcurrant, raspberry) on the nose with a touch of citrus, followed by a delectable palate bursting with vivacity and freshness.
PEWSEY VALE MUSEUM RESERVE DRY RIESLING
The 2010 The Contours Museum Reserve Riesling shows lovely, evolving lanolin and petrol notes, with beeswax and toast over a core of lemon curd, lemongrass and lime leaves. There is some honey, as well. This is a dry, light and expressive Riesling with tons of layers of flavor, as well as a long finish.
ARTESA, CARNEROS PINOT NOIR
Luminous bright red fruit and a hint of floral aromas; on the palate, there are undertones of bright strawberry and cherry accentuated with hints of caramel and toasty oak. This is an excellent partner to your Holiday feast.
DOMAINE DES GAUDETS MORGON COTE DU PY
The slope of the Cote du Py is regarded not only as the greatest vineyard site in the Cru appellation of Morgon but probably the top vineyard site in all of Beaujolais. Firm, ripe and voluptuous fruit, with notes of leather and mushroom that enhance the cherry qualities

Gallery Restaurant at The Ballantyne Hotel
Food & Beverage Manager at the GALLERY RESTAURANT, Jan Lemerman has given us his Thanksgiving day wine pairings. Because turkey is a very neutral meat component, he focuses his recommendation on the side dishes which often become the focal point and driver at the table on Thanksgiving.
2015 Weingut Eilenz Riesling Spätlese
This “late harvest” would be an excellent complement to turkey as the wine features ripe, lemony flavors, custard-like or similar to flan. This wine has a rich texture and soft structure to enhance your Thanksgiving meal
2015 Sokol Blosser Rosé of Pinot Noir from Dundee Hills Light
Deft and appealing with a pale color and carefully restrained guava and floral flavors, the wine features a dry finish that will bring together the neutral turkey and the brightness of some of the side dishes.
What would be a celebration without pulling out some signature vintage Napa Valley jewels like Single Vineyard Single Block: 2006 Nickel & Nickel Merlot Napa Valley, Howell Mountain, Vogt Vineyard and Block 17 with intense earthy currant, soft and elegant tannins and a slight hint of acidity on the finish.
And finally you cannot go wrong with Champagne or sparkling wine:
2009 Soter Mineral Springs Brut Rose from Yamhill-Carlton Oregon
Well-matured, taut, crisp and focused, the wine features pomegranate and floral flavors coming together seamlessly on the long and lively finish, punctuated by a hint of pepper. This wine will provide a reassurance of satisfaction even if your turkey is overcooked!
Firebird’s
FIREBIRD’S has an extensive wine selection and celebrates their selection with Wine Down Mondays, 1/2 price glasses and bottles every Monday. The Firebird’s chef recommends Pinot Noir with Thanksgiving. Here are his top picks with tasting notes.
