When the 4 women who founded the Good Friends of Charlotte heard these words from the Good Fellows 30 years ago, they knew what they had to do. Catherine Browning, Alice Folger, Sally Saussy, and Patty Norman assembled a diverse group of women to form what would become known as Good Friends, an organization whose goal is to raise funds for those who need help but who have exhausted all other agencies and resources. Celebrating its 30th Anniversary with this, the December 8th Good Friends Luncheon, the organization’s donations now total over $3 million.
Over 1400 women spanning eight generations will gather at the Charlotte Convention Center on December 8th to offer hope throughout the year to those needing a helping hand UP.

Join the scoop girls as we support this wonderful cause ~ your first time at the Good Friends luncheon is free, and an excellent way to join the movers & shakers in the Queen City as they join together to do good in the Holiday Spirit. Bring cash or a check as the donations collected at the annual luncheon are the whole point! All funds raised at the luncheon, as in one hundred percent, go directly to help the community, thanks to generous sponsors, led by Wells Fargo, who underwrite the luncheon expenses. The donations collected in this one hour sponsor an entire year of giving to the disadvantaged in Mecklenburg County. Over 3000 lives were touched by these gifts in 2016 alone, and over 71 nonprofit agencies refer cases to Good Friends. The goal this year? $500,00!
