This weekend, the Charlotte Symphony will perform classical favorites at multiple concerts Friday through Sunday. Conductor Christopher Warren-Green and percussionist Leonardo Soto lead the symphony in Schubert’s Great C Major. Tickets start at $25.50.

Yup, you read that right. It’s a photography show featuring everyone’s favorite “treat”, the sweet potato. Over the past six months, photographer Rémy Louis Thurston has worked with Charlotte sous chefs and apprentices to capture handcrafted dishes and sips featuring sweet potatoes. To celebrate, Free Range will be pouring a sweet potato brew and serving a special dish while you browse the artwork. 6 pm – 8 pm.

The rapids aren’t just for the rafts anymore. Bikes of all shapes and sizes will take to the banked whitewater channels for the first event of the 2017 Whitewater Race Series.
