You’ve heard the story: Charlottean Hyong Yi honored his wife on the one-year anniversary of her death by passing out 100 love notes from throughout their relationship to strangers in Uptown on November 21, 2015. Inspired by the impact the notes had on others, his heart-warming poems have merged with stunning artwork together in one book. Celebrate the work at Park Road Books this Thursday.

The museum comes to life after-hours at The Schiele Museum of Natural History. Dawn Flynn, a museum curator, walks visitors through the world of ancient arthropods and trilobites (yes, we had to look them up too) during this adults-only event. Get into the Valentine’s Day mood with soulful jazz from the the Ziad Jazz Quartet and guest vocalist Toni Tupponce. The concert will also feature a special opening musical guest: 13-year old Bria Alexander. Bria is a Charlotte student and the 2015-16 recipient of the Community School of the Arts Merit Scholarship Award for voice. There are two performance times: 6 pm and 8:15 pm.
