CHARLOTTE BLOGGER STYLE SESSION – Jen Grano of CharlotteShopGirl Shops The Pink Hanger

For this Charlotte Blogger Style Session, we tap local stylist and regular scoopcharlotte contributor Jen Grano of Charlotte Shop Girl to see what she would pick from the gorgeous new selections at The Pink Hanger.

Jen moved to Charlotte after college and has loved the city ever since. Charlotte Shop Girl is an iteration of her first blog, High Country Shop Girl, which originated from living in Boone for several years and having to rebuild an entire wardrobe for mountain weather. The blog grew into a passion for styling other women. After going back to school at NYC’s Parsons, Jen decided to pursue styling and personal shopping full time. Her services include closet edits, personal shopping, boutique consulting and monthly Style Box subscriptions. You can follow her style tips on Instagram or find out more about styling services at www.charlotteshopgirl.com.

Look 1

For my first look, I’m absolutely loving this versatile plaid top and Red Engine jeans. With a 90’s grunge-era feel and an updated high-low hemline, this top could go anywhere. I’d wear it with jeans and flats for a weekly grocery run or to happy hour with a leather jacket or to a summer music festival with cut-off shorts. I paired this fun ensemble with a gold bracelet and a neutral clutch.

Look 2

There’s nothing better to wear in Charlotte’s warmer temps than a maxi-dress. The blue and green hues of this off the shoulder number immediately caught my eye. For brunch with the girls or an al fresca dinner date, this flowy dress is also perfect for hiding “food babies.” And the cute little fringed wristlet? It was designed by Pink Hanger’s owner specifically for the new NFL size regulations. The line, cleverly named “Policy”, comes in black and this gorgeous light beige that will go with everything. The necklace we paired with it would also look great with a simple white tee and jeans or a blazer for work.

Look 3

My last look is a combination of two staples every girl needs in her closet: a pair white denim and a chambray top. The tie detail at the bottom of this shirt makes this staple piece stand out and the weight is just right – not too heavy, not too light. Chambray is great for warmer weather and can be paired with just about anything. Try it with kelly-green shorts for a trip to one of Charlotte’s great Farmer’s Market or with cropped black pants and leopard flats for a casual night out. And can we talk about white denim? I seriously can’t get enough and pretty much wear it all year round. This pair by Red Engine not only fits like a glove but has just enough spandex so that you can move freely. White denim can be dressed up with heels and an LBT (little black top), they can go casual with a colorful tank or tee or try something new: channel your inner French girl by pairing them a striped tee, red flats and a bandana tied around your neck. Tres chic!
