The fun kicks off Friday night with a Campground Jam for those staying on-site, then continues all day Saturday with a packed live music line-up and tastings from NC craft breweries.

Pooches & Puccini Festival

Fido could use a little culture. Bring the pup to Opera Carolina’s  first annual Pooches & Puccini dog and music festival. Starting at 3 p.m., the whole family can enjoy activities, music performances, and demonstrations. As the evening rolls in, show what you’re made of in the Dog Karaoke competition, sip on adult beverages and soak in  opera arias and classic show tunes. Free and open to the public.

Lake Norman Hospice Regatta & Party
The Peninsula Club
6:30 p.m.

Prior to race weekend (June 2-4), break out your party dress for the Lake Norman Hospice Regatta Party. At the Peninsula Club, enjoy hors d’oeuvres, chef-prepared dinner, music, dancing and a cash bar. Live and silent auctions will support Hospice and Palliative Care Lake Norman. $125 per person.

The Huntersville Grower’s Market is back beginning this weekend. Drop by to browse the selection of fresh and local produce and baked goods, or make a day of it with cooking demos, samples and kids activities.

Afton Village Wine Festival

Get your tasting glass ready. The Wine Room at Afton Village welcomes seven wineries for a day of sipping, food and live music. $10 per person.

2nd Annual Cornelius Trail Run
Caldwell Station Creek Greenway, Cornelius
10 a.m.

Help celebrate the grand opening of the Caldwell Station Creek Greenway by lacing up for a walk or run on the area’s newest trail. The 2.6-mile course features fitness stations and challenges along the way. $26 per person. Register here.

Hop on the Brew Bus

All aboard the brew bus! Get your ticket to ride from stop to stop, sipping the best brews the Lake has to offer. Participating taprooms include Bayne Brewing, Cornelius Drafthouse, Old Town Public House and bottled and tapped. $10 per person for unlimited rides.

18th Annual Charlotte Asian Festival and 12th Dragon Boat Race Festival
Ramsey Creek Park, Cornelius

Celebrate Asian culture and history at the Annual Charlotte Asian Festival. Watch the competition heat up in the dragon boat race beginning at 9 a.m. and going throughout the day. Be amazed by the talent on stage during music and dance performances, and shop offerings from vendors.
