From comedy shows to an arts festival and even some tunes from the symphony, we’ve got plenty of tips on how to make the most of the first few days of the season. Here’s where to go this weekend in Lake Norman:

FRIDAY

Summer Sale at Lavendar in Mooresville

1st Annual Brew Food Fight
Twenty-Six Acres Brewing | 5 p.m.

The food fight is on at Food Truck Friday as each kitchen on wheels must create a dish using their choice of Twenty-Six Acres beer. Try your favorite for dinner while a panel of judges awards prizes.

Mingling on the Greens
Birkdale Village | All weekend

Where To Go This Weekend In Lake Norman

Mingling on the Greens is back for the summer at Birkdale Village. Concerts are held each Friday and Saturday evening, as well as on Sunday afternoons. Here’s the line-up for this weekend:

Where To Go This Weekend In Lake Norman

Start your weekend off with a good belly laugh with the help of improv group Now Are the Foxes. Add in a craft brew and call it Friday night. Free admission.

CBC Summer Kickoff Weekend
Cabarrus Brewing Company, Concord | Through Sunday

Kick off summer with special beer releases, live music, food trucks and family fun all weekend long at Cabarrus Brewing Company.

TKB’s 7 Year Anniversary Weekend
The Kilted Buffalo, Huntersville | Through Sunday

Raise your glass to seven years with The Kilted Buffalo. The party lasts all weekend with a lip-sync battle, live music, a beer pong tournament and a glass engraving event.

Lake Norman Summer Concert Series
D9 Brewing Company | 5 p.m.

Natty Boh Duo and Muthaload Band keep the party rockin’ at this month’s edition of the Lake Norman Summer Concert Series. Confirmed food trucks for Saturday’s concert include Wings on Wheelz, BBQ Time, Sal’s Roadside Eatery and Carolina Smash Truck.

Symphony in the Park
Bailey Road Park| 6 p.m.

Pack a picnic and a blanket for a night of tunes under the stars. The Charlotte Symphony will take the stage at Bailey Road Park Bandshell for this free patriotic concert and fireworks show. Concessions will also be available on-site, with wine and beer sales benefitting the Lake Norman Wildlife Conservationists.

Lake Norman Festival of Arts
Birkdale Village | Through Sunday
Fine art fans will love strolling through a visual celebration of sculpture, photography, glass, paints and more at the Lake Norman Festival of the Arts this weekend. Explore one-of-a-kind creations in the heart of Birkdale Village’s shops and eateries Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The Foxes at the Warehouse
Warehouse PAC | 8 p.m.
Now Are the Foxes brings the laughs to The Warehouse with a “whose Line Is It Anyway” style show with plenty of audience interaction. Tickets are $10 each. Purchase here.
High Branch Strawberry Poke Bottle Release
High Branch Brewing Co., Concord | 2 p.m.

Just in time for Summer, High Branch Brewing Company will release the first ale in their barrel aged Berliner Wiesse series. Strawberry Poke uses SC strawberries to craft an ale with fruity flavors and will be available on tap and in bottles starting on Saturday.

Downtown Concord Sidewalk Sale
Concord | 10 a.m.

Take a stroll through Downtown Concord as local retailers offer deals and steals as part of Saturday’s sidewalk sale. Make a purchase of any amount and be entered to win $100 in Downtown Concord Dollars at participating businesses,

Make-A-Wish Corn Hole Tournament
Ghostface Brewing, Mooresville | 2 p.m.

Put your tossing skills to the test at this corn hole tournament for a cause. Prizes are available for top place finishers, plus there will be raffle drawings. Ghostface Brewing will donate a percentage of the proceeds that day back to Make A Wish. Entry fee is $20 per person or $40 per team.

Craft Beer and Food Truck Festival
Moor Park, Mooresville | 4:45 p.m.

Before the Mooresville Spinners take the field, enjoy brews from six craft breweries and multiple food vendors at the Craft Beer Festival. The pre-game party also features live music from John Sullivan and Friends. $5 per person.

My Aloha Paddle & Surf | 2 p.m.

Round out your weekend with a day of paddle boarding on the water. Venture out from the lakefront dock access of My Aloha along a 1.5 mile route. Once back on shore, toast with a free pint from Bayne Brewing Company and specials for participants in their taproom.
