The Constitution Dinner

Drop by to browse the selection of fresh and local produce and baked goods, or make a day of it with cooking demos, samples and kids activities. This week, Chef Matt will be leading cooking classes for little chef’s-in-training ages 5-12. The free classes are 40 minutes each and begin at 9, 10 and 11 a.m.

July 4th Celebration
Birkdale Village | 10 a.m.

Join in the fun at Birkdale Village this July fourth. They’ll have face painters and balloon artists on-site, plus a bike parade and fire department water fight.  See here for the schedule of events.

Davidson 4th of July Parade
McEver Field | 5:15 p.m.

Get your red, white and blue ready for this family-friendly parade through downtown Davidson. Citizens will meet at McEver Field on wagons, bikes and foot to prepare for the route up South Street and Main Street. Along the way, they’ll be joined by a color guard and members of the police and fire departments.

Concerts on the Green
July 4 | Davidson Village Green | 6 p.m.

The parade route ends at the Village Green, where you’ll be welcomed by the high energy sound of Da Throwback Band. Get ready to dance to funk, disco and pop songs of the 70s & beyond. Concerts are free and open to the public.

Thinkin’ & Drinkin’ Trivia Show
Old Town Public House, Cornelius | 7:30, 8:15 and 9 p.m

Put your high school history skills to the test as Thinkin’ & Drinkin’ trivia hosts an Independence Day themed show, with questions about presidents, the constitution and more. There are three separate games, each beginning at 7:30, 8:15 and 9 p.m.

Mental Health America of Central Carolinas is looking forward to their inaugural fundraising event, Art in Mind, on October 5. The Call for Artists is now open through September 1. The non-profit whose aim is to raise awareness of mental health issues is welcoming donations of art with a connection to mental wellness either through the art’s depiction or a personal story.
