If you live in the greater Charlotte area and you are interested in home decor, you must visit Front Door Fabrics + Interiors on Monroe Road.
Whether you just moved into a new house or apt, are remodeling (who isn’t these days) or re-decorating (who isn’t always), or just need to spruce things up at home, FRONT DOOR is one of Charlotte’s best ~ and most accessible ~ all-under-one-roof homeowner’s design resources. Fabric, Trim, Rugs, Window Treatments, Pillows, Furniture, Accessories, Lighting, Special Order, Custom, DIY, Fabrication, Design Service and more, all out on Monroe Rd. handily located right next to the Ella B (“the neighborhood candles”) store. Located in a strip center, but don’t judge Front Door by its affordable real estate location, because looks can be deceiving.
Inside, you will find some of the best brand names in fabric, trims etc. all at very affordable prices. Even if you are going to DIY your own decor, you can still tap into the talented design minds at Front Door for advice and counsel. If you are working with a designer but trying to keep costs down, Front Door is your bff.
There is way, way too much in the way of fabric for us to show you all of what’s available at Front Door, but here is a snapshot of what we saw at our visit this week:
PILLOWS
Yes, a store that sells this much fabric also sells a TON of pillows, including an entire wall of inserts in the back. There is just no easier, more affordable way to change the style and look of your rooms that new throw pillows. Whether you take them to your favorite fabricator / seamstress, sew them yourself (!!), or have Front Door handle making them for you, this is the perfect place to shop for your new decorative pillows, with prices per pillow below mostly between $120 and $160.
FURNITURE & FURNISHINGS
With brands like Wesley Hall, plus experience custom-creating hundreds of pieces for local customers, Front Door is on point for upholstered furniture as well, including the coveted leather clad items.
Fabrics & Trims
OK, so this is their jam. There’s a room just for trims and the store is pretty much wall to wall fabrics. Velvets are huge right now, as is a menswear vibe, but in Charlotte, prints still reign supreme. FD has plenty of them all ~ brands like Duralee, Kravet, Robert Allen, P. Kaufmann, Waverly, Braemore, Thibaut and many more.
