Taste of the Lake

Support the Lowe’s YMCA 2017 Annual Campaign with an evening of live jazz, auctions, a photo booth and great food provided by local restaurants. $60 per person.

Amazing Maize Maze – Opening Weekend
Rural Hill, Huntersville | Saturday & Sunday

It’s that time of year again! Get lost in the seven-acre corn maze at Rural Hill. During opening weekend, and through November 5, the whole family can enjoy hayrides, corn hole, mini-mazes, trail hikes and more.

SATURDAY

Lake Norman Beach Fest
Queen’s Landing, Mooresville | 2:30 p.m.

The summer’s not over yet! The day kicks off with a 5K run and 50K cycle ride. Then, jam out to the best of Carolina beach music as Jim Quick and Coastline, The Entertainers, Chairmen of the Board and The Tams all take the stage along with guest DJs. $20 in advance, $25 day of event. All proceeds support the Lake Norman Volunteer Fire Department.

Paddlefest/ End of Summer Bash
My Aloha Paddle Sport and Fitness & Galway Hooker Irish Pub, Cornelius | 3 p.m.

Round out the dog days of summer with a paddle thanks to My Aloha, followed by beer and giveaways at Galway Hooker. Proceeds benefit the Catawba Riverkeeper Foundation.

Kayak Tour on Mountain Island Lake
Latta Plantation Nature Center, Huntersville | 1 p.m.

Master the basics of flatware kayaking and lake preservation on this guided tour of Mountain Island Lake. Ages 12 and up can join in on a single kayak ($15), while kids over six can paddle with an adult on a tandem ($20).

Seeing and Believing Fundraiser – Panthers Kickoff Party
D9 Brewing Company | 3 p.m.

Watch the Panthers earn their first W and give back to a cause with the help of D9 Brewing Company. Start the party off with live music from Blue Monday, followed by a game viewing party. $20 donation. Proceeds benefit Seeing and Believing, and organization helping those in need access quality eye care.
