Color for the People = Art + Food + Cocktails + Color
MCCOLL CENTER FOR ART + EXHIBITION artist-in-residence and baker Leah Rosenberg is merging art, food and cocktails with the colors of Charlotte in her Color For The People exhibition.
Now through November 30th on 6 select Thursdays, Rosenberg welcomes guests to experience the colors she discovers at Color Bar, which is a food performance where visitors see and taste each week’s color. Color Bar pairs a specialty cocktail with sweet and savory bites created by Rosenberg in the color of the week, for a true participatory experience for guests.
The Color for the People exhibit hopes to create a space for the community to be inspired by the role that art and food creates in our lives and in Rosenberg’s words “medicine for times like these”. Each Color Bar is limited to only 24 attendees, so pick a date and secure your tickets today (October 12th, 19th, 26th and November 9th, 16th and 30th).
Scoop enjoyed a preview event featuring the gorgeous color blue which Rosenberg called “The Blue Hour,” reminiscent of one of Charlotte’s Chamber of Commerce Carolina Blue sky days.
Purchase tickets for The Color Bar on October 12th, 19th, 26th and November 9th, 16th and 30th.
Tickets are $5 for McColl Center Members and $7 for non-members.
Two ticket limit per person.
Participants must arrive by 6:15 p.m. to get the full multisensory experience.
The McColl Center’s fall artists in residence have moved into their studios; after enjoying a Color Bar event, you will want to explore the spaces upstairs for a true peek inside an artist’s space.
