Wine Tasting

Start your pre-weekend with a wine tasting in the heart of Birkdale. Corkscrew is pouring a wine tasting for just $5.

On the Border Eagles Tribute Band at LangTree Live
LangTree Lake Norman, Mooresville | 5 p.m.

What To Do This Weekend In Lake Norman

Unwind with music, drink specials, tons of options for dinner and more at this week’s LangTree Live. It starts with happy hour with DJ Chase Morgan and continues with live music from On the Border, an Eagles tribute band.

2nd Annual Whiskey & Wood
Southend Reclaimed, Davidson | 5-8 p.m.

Southend Reclaimed and Flatiron Kitchen + Taphouse are teaming up with Susan Vaughn Designs for the 2nd Annual Whiskey & Wood event. Welcome fall with games on the porch, live music, food and whiskey and wine tastings. Proceeds benefit Kids for Kindness. $20 per person.

FRIDAY

Serenity House 10th Anniversary Black and White Gala
Charles Mack Citizen Center, Mooresville | 6:30 p.m.

Serenity House is celebrating a decade of service to the community with their Black and White Gala. Grab your tickets now!

SATURDAY

Southern Spirits Road Tour
Departing from Brooklyn South Pizza, Cornelius | 11 a.m.

Take a tour of the area’s best distilleries, all with the help of an expert guide. The day starts off with free pizza at Brooklyn South and continues with visits to Muddy River, Doc Porter’s, Good Road CiderWorks and Great Wagon Road. Your ticket includes sixteen tastings, door prizes, souvenir shot glasses and behind-the-scenes tours. $64.95 per person.

Oktoberfest
The Wine Room at Afton Village, Concord | 4 p.m.

The Wine Room at Afton Village is getting in the spirit of the season with a night of live music and food and drink specials. Cheers!

Opening Day of the Regal Corn Maze
Regal Corn Maze, Statesville | All day

Get lost in the never-ending 7-acre corn maze starting this weekend. Bring the whole family out for opening day and enjoy fall activities, a mini maze and a petting zoo.

Cornelius Guns & Hoses 2017
Bailey Road Park, Cornelius | 4 p.m.

Cheer along as the Cornelius Police Department take on the Cornelius-Lemley Fire Rescue in the 2017 Guns & Hoses Charity Softball game. Proceeds from T-shirt sales, raffle tickets and concessions will benefit TopDeck Foundation.

Lakefront Hops Fest
LangTree Lake Norman | 1:30 p.m.

Over thirteen breweries will be on site pouring your favorites at the Lakefront Hops Fest. Get your tasting glass ready for a day of sipping, jamming out to local bands, feasting from vendors, playing corn hole and more. Proceeds benefit Ace & TJ’s Grin Kids.

Carolina Renaissance Festival Opening Weekend
16445 Poplar Tent Road, Huntersville | 10 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.

It’s back! Head back in time to the days of jousting, feasting and royalty at The Renaissance Festival. The festival kicks off its 24th year by offering two adult tickets for the price of one at the Festival Box Office. Coupon is required!

Downtown Davidson Fall Art Festival
216 South Main Street, Davidson | 3-8 p.m.

Stroll through the streets of historic downtown Davidson as over 40 of the best local artisans showcase their work. Browse handmade gifts, pottery, jewelry, photography, fine art and more. While you stroll, enjoy live music by Billy Jones and the Pocket, outdoor food and beverage sales, an interactive children’s art area and retail shops with special hours.

School of Rock Cornelius
Oak Street Mill, Cornelius | 4-7 p.m.

Five groups take the stage to show off their talent in a one-of-a-kind showcase of local talent. Enjoy the tunes and provisions from your favorite food trucks. $5 per person.

The 2017 Great Chili Cook-Off
Iredell County Fair Grounds, Troutman | 4-9 p.m.

Is it really fall without a chili cookoff? Taste the top contenders, enjoy live music, sip on beer and wine and shop craft vendor. Plus, there’s ton for kids to do! Have a blast in the inflatable kids zone built just for them. Admission is $10, while kids nine and under are free.

Lake Norman Summer Concert Series
D9 Brewing Company, Cornelius | 5 p.m.

Enjoy your brew with a side of live music with the return of D9’s Lake Norman Summer Concert Series. Matt Minchew will warm up the crowd before Queen City Party Band takes the stage. On site food trucks include Smokey J’s, Bebos Mac Shack, Ole Buddy’s Oinker Express and Queen City Sliders.

SUNDAY

Novant Health 15K and 5K
Jetton Village III, Cornelius | 6:45 a.m.

Lace up to tackle the scenic race course along Lake Norman’s residential peninsula. Opt for the 5K or 15K route and enjoy the views along the way. Expect custom shirts, medals and a great post-race after party.

Tiny Stage Concerts Songwriter Showcase
D9 Brewing Company, Cornelius | 4-7 p.m.
