In this day and age of constantly being “on,” do you ever wish you could switch “off”? What about sweating, toning, and a bit of therapy all in one? Well, that’s what Erica Fenlon was looking for when she relocated South in 2014 from NYC. She searched high and low around town trying to find an indoor cycle class reminiscent of her go-to SoulCycle classes that she loved. When she couldn’t find it, she decided to open Uptown’s first boutique cycle studio, CYCLESOUTH.
The 1st 25 riders to email marketing@cyclesouth.com with subject line “CycleSouth Scoop Ride” get a FREE class (new riders only)!
CycleSouth is located in the heart of Uptown. It offers 45 and 60 minute rides that let you zone out to the music in a lights-out atmosphere. Candles in a dimly lit room ensure you can see the instructor without the uncomfortable feeling that other people are watching you. No digital performance boards, RPM monitors, screens or computers! It’s just you, your determination, fellow riders, a dynamic instructor, and incredible music.
Maybe you are thinking cardio is all well and good but you want to tone too? Check out the new Cycle + Arms classes where you’ll work arms (and legs) for 10 minutes using surprisingly hard 3-5 lb. weights before hopping onto your bike for a 45 minute ride!
A signature of CycleSouth classes is their music throw down theme rides pitting pop, rap and hip hop artists against each other to make your class fly by – Drake vs. Lauren Hill, Madonna vs Lady Gaga, Hamilton, Boy Bands vs. Girl Bands, Old School Hip-Hop. They take suggestions from clients so tell them your jam.
Located on Tryon, next to Rock Bottom Brewery, CycleSouth is just a 5-minute walk from Trade & Tryon with easy, validated parking in their garage.
CycleSouth caters to Uptown professionals and out of town visitors with lockers, showers, hairdryers and space to get ready for your next meeting. It’s also a convenient option from the Dilworth, Elizabeth and Myers Park neighborhoods. We found on street parking during the morning and afternoon.
Sign up for the free class and if you are hooked they are offering 5 classes for $75 which is a great way to try out different instructors and classes!
