Every fall, the Mint Museum Auxiliary hosts their Fall Enrichment Forum featuring a well-known creative powerhouse, and this year is no exception. In the recent past, we’ve heard from Fashion Designers (Trina Turk and Lela Rose), Designing Entrepreneurs (Jonathan Adler) and Tastemaking Entrepreneurs (India Hicks). This year, we will hear from Tony-Award winning costume designer William Ivey Long.
Coinciding with the William Ivey Long: COSTUME DESIGNS 2007-2016 exhibit at the Mint Museum Uptown through June, this morning event featuring North Carolina native William Ivey Long promises to be one for the record books. Mr. Long is one of the most renowned theatrical costume designers working today. He is a six-time Tony Award-Winning Broadway costume designer, and he worked on some of our favorite productions ~ Nine, Chicago, Cabaret, The Music Man, Company, Seussical, The Producers (including the movie adaptation), Hairspray, and Little Shop of Horrors.
The Auxiliary’s Fall Enrichment Forums (FEF) are equal parts entertaining lecture, creative process insight, tales from the front, and glimpses into society and celebrity lifestyles. They are always an immensely enjoyable morning spent with the Queen City’s loveliest ladies, turned out in autumnal style, in support of an important fundraising arm of the Museum. Tickets go first to Members, but the often sold-out event is open to the public. Along with the Spring Room-to-Bloom Symposium, the FEF is a wonderful way to take a look at whether Auxiliary patronage or membership is something you would like to do.
There will be light bites, champagne and coffee along with a book signing (always the perfect Holiday gifts for those on your list who have everything). Proceeds will benefit The Mint Museum Auxiliary.

About the Mint Museum Auxiliary
Organized in 1956, the Auxiliary supports The Mint Museum, which is celebrating its 81st
anniversary this year, by raising money to support education offerings for the community and to
fund acquisitions for the Museum’s permanent collection. The Auxiliary has grown from a small
group of 60 women to nearly 600 members spanning seven generations. To date, the Auxiliary
has donated over $13.88 million to The Mint Museum including over 3,800 works of art and
donations support programming and education. The six-‐‑decade partnership between The Mint
Museum and the Mint Museum Auxiliary has been rich, strong and beneficial to both the Museum
and the city of Charlotte.
