Founders Holiday Ice Rink at ChristmasVille
Monday, November 17 (through January 15), times vary
Fountain Park, Rock Hill, $10 (includes skate rental)
Visit the open-air ice skating rink during Christmasville – tons of events including gingerbread house building and horse drawn carriage rides.

On Monday also don’t miss Small Stalks Mondays at Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden and the Daily Planetarium Show at Discovery Place Nature.

Mooresville Christmas Parade
Tuesday, November 21, 3:00 p.m.
Mooresville, starts on Statesville ave.
Floats, marching bands, dance and tumbling troupes, vintage and modern modes of transport, plus plenty of fun and entertainment for the family, and of course Santa.

On Tuesday, also don’t miss Dream Big in IMAX with 3 showings today (tix vary) at Discovery Place or take your older kids to Clayworks at the Independence Regional Library (2:30 p.m., free).

The Ice Park
Wednesday, November 22 (through January 15)
The Speedpark Ice Skating Rink, Concord Mills, $12+, times vary
Skate on 4,200 square feet of real ice, plus enjoy go karting, play mini golf, and have fun on the giant spider web.

Also on Wednesday, the Carolina Panther’s 4th Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony.

Novant Health Thanksgiving Day Parade
Thursday, November 23, 9:30 a.m.
Uptown (Tryon St to 9th St)
Kick off the season with marching bands, large balloons and floats, and live performances in front of the Levine Center for the Arts on South Tryon Street.

Lots of family-friendly trots on Thursday including the 7th Annual Turkey Day 5K/Run For The BCO, Charlotte Southpark Turkey Trot, and Mooresville/Lake Norman 5K Turkey Trot

One Hundred Years of Christmas
Friday, November 24 (through Saturday 25), 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Historic Latta Plantation, Huntersville, free – $9
Enjoy a full day of family fun and holiday cheer at the annual Christmas living history event.  Period-dressed actors will be on-hand guiding tours of the circa 1800 plantation home and demonstrating holiday prep of the era.

Zootastic Park Christmas Wonderland of Lights
Saturday, November 25 (through Jan 1), 6:00 – 10:00 p.m.,
Troutman, (free – $7)
Drive or walk through the park to experience the lights, and don’t miss the s’mores pit, pony rides, petting zoo, tiger and giraffe feeding, carousel, photos with Santa and more!

Celebration of Lights & Winterland Express
Sunday, November 26, 6:00 – 9:00 p.m.
Village Park, Kannapolis, free – some activities/ food extra
Ride the train, toast marshmallows, make s’mores, meet Santa and Mrs. Claus, regular carol performances and more.
