The Lake norman area has many great neighborhoods that go it all out with light displays that surely Santa can see from the North Pole. Bonus, most of the neighborhoods featuring one home with a light show (think music and lights sequenced as you tune to a particular station) also have numerous other homes with multiple displays making a slow cruise through the entire community time well spent… so grab your mittens and bundle up the kids for some animated fun.
Huntersville
The Biggie: There are a lot of light displays in the McAuley neighborhood that raise their game each year, leaving no blade of grass unlit, but 15419 Hugh McAuley Rd takes the cake for light show.
Huntersville Noteworthy Neighborhoods: Don’t miss NorthStone Country Club and The Hamptons; there’s plenty of decorated houses on each street. Vermillon and Wynfield neighborhoods also have some stunners that are easily accessed from Gilead Rd.
Denver
The Biggie: 7661 Natalie Commons Drive is the biggie – think big show with new mashups each season. And, in the spirit of the season some of the neighbors are joining in on the fun and can be found at 7829 E Berkley Rd. and 7662 Natalie Commons Dr.
Noteworthy: Also worth the drive by in Denver, 315 Ramano Dr – lets just say they have more inflatables than you can point a stick at…
Mooresville
The biggie: 413 North Main St, is also a must; it’s beautiful against the backdrop of the ol’ part of town. While you’re driving around Mooresville 306 Almora Loop brings a serious gingerbread game.
Noteworthy Neighborhoods: The Point.
Extra Scoop: In Cornelius check out the Peninsula, and Westmoreland neighborhoods. In Davidson, River Run is a must, the entrance alone is worth the drive. And, because it is the lake, the waterways are our neighborhood – don’t miss the 21st Annual Lighted Boat Parade – it’s truly magical, Santa even participates arriving by fireboat.
