Tuesday is Mardi Gras. Where & What to Eat to Laissez Les Bons Temps Rouler

Let the Good Times Roll

Gumbo, king cakes, beignets, shrimp creole, po’ boys. There are several restaurants and events around town to make plans for Fat Tuesday to honor the New Orleans traditions. According to history.com the celebration of Mardi Gras “Fat Tuesday” takes place during ‘the days leading up to Lent, merrymakers would binge on all the meat, eggs, milk and cheese that remained in their homes, preparing for several weeks of eating only fish and fasting.’

For those of you who have attempted to have a “dry January” or started new diets and workout routines, this festival comes at just the right time to give yourself a break. We all deserve a reason to have a great time and what better way than to celebrate Fat Tuesday with friends at some of these restaurants. We have put together a list of places to celebrate New Orleans style cuisine and a few events to keep your eye on.
