What is The Black and White Party
In honor of the Year of Fashion at the Mint Museum, join the Mint Museum Auxiliary on Friday, March 9 at 8 pm for a fabulous soiree inspired by Truman Capote’s famed black and white dance. Held at the Plaza Hotel in 1966, the “Party of the Century” brought together society, art, fashion, Hollywood, political and literary icons. Charlotte’s very own black and white masquerade will feature Manhattan-based DJ, Dina Regine.
With her trademark mixing style, inimitable blending of genres, and a record/CD collection that would make some radio stations jealous, Dina Regine has been spinning the minds and bodies at some of Manhattan’s hottest clubs and events around the world for the last two decades. She launched the Guggenheim Museum’s wildly successful First Friday series and has performed for an envious list of celebrity clients like Keith Richards (and family), Bruce Willis, Cher, Diane Sawyer, Mariah Carey and Bill Murray.
Guests at the Black and White Party will enjoy 60s-inspired light bites and cocktails. The event is open to the public, tickets are $125 each ($63 tax deductible), and can be purchased HERE. No tickets will be available at the door. Black and white party attire is recommended; masks are optional!
