If it seems as if Every Day is National Something Day, that’s because it IS; just looking at the “National Day Calendar” is exhausting. IHOP created “National Pancake Day” and celebrates with a free stack for customers, although the actual date of the day is a little confusing. For IHOP this year, it was 2/27. In other countries, National Pancake Day is also known as Shrove Tuesday, the day before Ash Wednesday, aka Mardi Gras. Which of course in NOLA is celebrated with king cake and not pancakes.
No matter, pancakes are always a good thing, any day at any time. I mean, is there anything better than “breakfast for dinner“?
