I have to admit, I always hold my breath a little when I walk into an interior design boutique. One ~ because I am OBSESSED with interior design and tend to want one of everything (see: interior design school drop-out), and also ~ because I definitely have champagne taste on a prosecco budget. Theory Design Studio on East Boulevard caters to clientele exactly like me; those who love nice things for their home but don’t necessarily have an endless budget. Their expertly-edited collection of home decor and gifts makes a beautiful home easily accessible to the everyday Charlotte gal.
A quick walk-through the space will leave you longing to clear out your current decor and embark on a whole-home redesign, with classic furniture pieces mixed with pops of color and modern accessories to take things to the next level. I also love that Theory carries a number of local designers and lines including Evelyn Henson, The Piper Collection, The Blush Label and Ella B.
Having over 20 years of combined design and merchandising experience, Owners and Designers Emily Hudgens and Toni Hollingsworth, alongside Director of Operations Keri Johnson, have curated a lust-worthy collection of furniture, lighting, home accessories, art and gift items. In addition to their retail boutique, Theory also offers full-service interior design services in residential and commercial design along with home-staging and special event design.
We stopped in to shop what’s new for the season and will definitely be making a return trip to pick up a few of these items ourselves.
