Getting to the altar has never been more fraught with complications. A frisky count, his neglected wife, the object of his desire and her weary, but cunning fiancé — plus a cadre of manic characters — create and then navigate chaos. All in the name of love.
Everyone has a crazy wedding story, from the over-served guests, to drama between the families, to the cake not showing up on time or mine; our minister’s cell phone ringing in the middle of the vows. The stress and nerves of the big day lend itself to something going awry, and hopefully you are able to accept it as comic relief and enjoy the rest of the day. The Marriage of Figaro is no different, well, maybe a tad more drama.
OPERA CAROLINA continues their Enter The Illusion season with another performance filled with plot twists, mistaken identities and love triangles. The music of Marriage of Figaro will be instantly familiar to most as it has been used in countless commercials, movies and TV shows ~ The Marriage of Figaro is the backdrop to Burger King Commercials, Tom and Jerry Cartoons, The Mad Men TV show, and famous movies including Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, Wedding Crashers, Runaway Bride, Trading Places, Pride and Prejudice and the Shawshank Redemption.
