Every spring, the Mint Museum Auxiliary hosts a Symposium at Charlotte Country Club as the culmination of their annual Room To Bloom fundraising season, and it seems every spring the fashions, the attendees and festivities get more beautiful. This always sold out event is a “welcome-spring” ritual for hundreds of Charlotte women, and is always as a fashion feast for the eyes.
This year’s Symposium keynote speaker was the charming designer Mark D. Sikes, who walked us through the inspiration for and thinking behind many of the beautiful and timeless rooms featured in his new book, Beautiful, All American Decorating and Timeless Style. Mark Sikes has a penchant for blue & white stripes, for greenery, wicker furniture, and for a luxe indoor/outdoor lifestyle. He entertained a packed house on that Charlotte rarity this spring ~ a perfectly beautiful and sunny day.
