It seems like there’s a new workout studio popping up in the QC every month and our exercise class bucket list is growing longer. Whether you’re exploring your options before settling on the one that best suits your lifestyle or just like to mix it up, here are six Charlotte Workouts to test your fitness. We’re huge fans of the ClassPass app if hopping around is your thing and you’re afraid of commitment.
BLOC.clt
This community-focused fitness studio features a hangout space equipped with wifi and plenty of space to spread out and get work done. The studio offers three types of workouts including a boxing focused strength training class, strength training without boxing, and an upbeat cardio dance option for those of you with moves. Coffee and snacks get you going while the recovery room allows you to relax. Sit back with recovery boots used to reduce soreness or try out their mobility techniques. Your first class is just $10.

STAX FREE FITNESS BOOTCAMP
This free, one-hour workout happens twice a week at STAX Fitness on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:30pm-7:30pm (weather permitting because it is outdoors). The STAX website describes the workout as ‘for all levels’ but after attending one session I will say the sprints, burpees and push-ups were no joke and breaks are few and far between. If you’re looking to build strength and get fit, especially on a budget, this is, in my opinion, the best workout in Charlotte. You’ll be joined by over 100 men and women of all levels and may make some friends while you’re there.

SKYFIT AT SKYZONE
If you’re searching for something out of the ordinary to get your heart rate up, SkyFit at Sky Zone near Carolina Place Mall may be the workout for you. Held only on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays, this $10 class works your entire body to burn up to 1,o00 calories while performing exercises all on the trampoline. It’s still on my workout class bucket list but I’ve heard rave reviews and am in the market for something low-impact, plus it just sounds fun.

FIT ATELIER
Fit Atelier on East Blvd may strike you as a regular athletic boutique but it is so much more than that. The shop is also home to the Fit Atelier Signature Class incubator which brings in top instructors from around Charlotte into the studio a few times a week for a small class where you can get your sweat on. Enjoy a Hilliard Studio Method workout among others like West Kept Secret, SCLPT MTHD, and yoga.

ROCKBOX FITNESS
Kickboxing isn’t exactly the first thing that comes to mind when it comes to getting my workout in for the day but as more boxing-centered studios have opened, it has become quite the trend both for men and women. Rockbox is just one of many studios in the QC where you can get your jab, cross, hook on and release a little bit of the day’s tension. You’ll walk out feeling accomplished and energized after this full body workout.

ORANGE THEORY FITNESS
OTF is a forever favorite in my book. While it seems like it’s the most popular workout in the US right now, there’s good reason for it. One hour of cardio and strength training with tracked results leaves you proud of your hard work and looking forward to continuing your fitness journey. This is one workout I can honestly say I have seen results from without changing my eating habits. There is a heavy focus on the treadmill but if you’re looking for lower impact you can switch to a bike. Your first class is free and there are multiple area locations. I highly suggest it.
