The Holidays 2018 kicked off Saturday Uptown with a WHIRL in an 80-foot tall Ferris wheel called the Eye on Tryon, at the corner of Tryon & 7th Streets. The Eye, which lights up at night, offers dramatic views of the Uptown skyline and marks the first in a series of fun & fab Center City events over the next two months. It comes down November 10, so get your ride in while you can!!
Rides on the Eye Ferris wheel are $5 for adults and $3 children with cards and cash are accepted. Open daily UNTIL NOVEMBER 10th with varying hours, check them out here on the facebook page.
Charlotte’s Holidays in the City include some of the QC’s most cherished annual events, like Holidays On Ice Uptown outdoor skating rink and the Charlotte Christmas Village, which opens on November 22nd at 7th & Tryon.
The highlight of Holidays in the City for us is always the Novant Health Thanksgiving Day Parade which starts on Thursday, November 22 at 9:00 am. The Southeast’s largest Thanksgiving Day parade, Charlotte’s 71st annual parade features larger-than-life balloons, 13 marching bands, floats, a tribute to Charlotte’s 250th anniversary, and the arrival of Santa Claus. Things start at 9th Street at 9 am (just remember 9 at 9), and the parade marches South on Tryon Street to Stonewall Street. The performance area will be located right in front of the Duke Energy building.
Front Row Seats to view the Parade can be purchased and reserved now for $25 in advance through the Novant Health Thanksgiving Day Parade App or via CarolinaTix here ($30 day of). You can even start Parade Day off with a 7 am Breakfast With Santa.
That’s the REAL TICKET –> sending Dad, the Grandparents and the Visiting Relatives with the kids out of the house to an early start to see Santa and the Parade while you get the Thanksgiving Feast Ready.
