Charlotte has several young professional groups good for networking, where you can expand your professional network by joining a business group in your field, or join a charitable organization to raise funds for the Charlotte community. But what about one that caters to your creative side and adds some culture to your calendar? Meet the BECHTLER YOUNG VISIONARIES.
The Bechtler Young Visionaries ~ or BYVs ~ are Charlotte’s next generation of art leaders. The group offers a way to connect with others who are interested in modern art, the opportunity to meet artists, and learn more about the art world.  You don’t need to have any art knowledge to join, although maybe that elective art history class will finally come in handy.
Why Join the BYV’s?
Member Stephen Poulton shares, “I joined the BYV’s because I wanted to meet and network with other young professionals in Charlotte. I wanted to get more involved in the Charlotte arts community and expand my knowledge of modern art and arts in general. The BYV’s provide monthly events ranging from gallery visits to special events at the Bechtler Museum. ”

Member Ashley Peterson explains that the Bechtler Young Visionaries group is undergoing a renaissance of sorts, with a revamped model to focus on events that cultivate socialization, cultural education, and philanthropic efforts. “It’s an exciting time to join the BYV’s because with a new steering committee comes new energy and excitement; focused on growing our group to the largest it’s ever been. I’ve long been a supporter of the Bechtler and finding a niche like the BYV’s has helped lay a path for further involvement and support options,” Peterson explained.

To join the Bechtler Young Visionaries, you must first have a current Bechtler membership which is $50 for an individual. Annual membership in the Bechtler Young Visionaries is $35 for an individual and $70 for a couple. This fee is added to any level of Bechtler Museum of Modern Art membership.
